Lyon - Montreal,  5 August 2016 - Amoéba, in partnership with its distributor Magnus, is pleased to announce the start of on-site industrial R&D tests of its Green Biocide (BIOMEBA) in Canada. The successful implantation of the pilot R&D production zone has been finalised thanks to close collaboration between Amoéba’s French and Canadian teams. This is the first time that the company’s innovative and powerful industrial procedure has been replicated outside France.  The Canadian installation is identical to the R&D pilot production system developed at Amoéba’s headquarters in Lyon. Thanks to four 10-L bioreactors, the new factory has an annual production capacity of 5 m3 of BIOMEBA.

Amoéba’s biological biocide, which has been undergoing extensive tests in Europe for more than 3 years, has demonstrated its efficacy in air-cooled towers on several industrial sites, including Häagen-Dazs and ArcelorMittal. Production of the Green Biocide (BIOMEBA) by the Amoéba’s Canadian subsidiary and its industrial R&D testing correspond to a full-scale trial for its future commercialisation in Canadian territory. Before commercialisation can start, approval must be granted by the Canadian Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA); this should take place during the first half of 2018.
